Without regular website traffic even the most beautifully designed and well-organized site might as well shut up shop.

Here's a tip for you...

After you have written your article read it a back to yourself a number of times as if you were reading it through your readers eyes. Did you find it absorbing and informative? Did it flow nicely from sentence to sentence? If not rewrite it until it does. Be brutally honest because your real readers will be much tougher judges than yourself.

After you have written your article it should be submitted to the top article directories.

If the article directories you are submitting articles to are well regarded by Google then so much the better.

Your ultimate goal is to have your article reach the front page in the Google rankings, with the coveted top spot the main prize. Not always possible but if you don't aim high you will always fall short.

Right...now you've got the traffic but the job's not done yet.

It's all very well to use article marketing to drive large amounts of traffic to your website, but if your content is boring and of little value, your visitors will leave at the click of a mouse,which defeats the whole idea of getting traffic in the first place.

Your website visitors will want to see interesting and recent content which shows a good degree of knowledge on your website. If they do they will come back again and again. With a bit of luck you may get them to sign up for a subscription to your newsletter. It's an irrefutable fact that building your subscriber list is one the most strategic activities an internet marketer can do.

By keeping to these simple guidelines, you can be confident of driving more website traffic with every article you write. Every one you do is building up your online presence. It's a fact that writing articles is time-consuming and can be tiresome, so the tough part is pushing yourself to take action. The ones that do put the work in will reap the rewards for years to come.
