Types of Article Directories

There are may different types of article directories on the net. To an internet marketer, some of the most helpful would be those that allow articles to be copied from their site for other webmasters to place on their sites. This in effect generates back links that the search engines use to rate a websites popularity. The more back links to a site, the more popular the site seems to the search engine.

The types would be as follows:

General Directories:

These would be the sites that accept articles of all different sorts of subjects. It would be like a giant library of subjects ranging from how to get rid of zits, to information about kitty litter. Go Articles, E-Articles R Us, and SearchWarp, would be a perfect example of these types. They accept any type of article that can be placed in their vast subject categories or sub categories.

Hobby Related Directories:

These would be considered specialized article directories. A perfect example would be Wood Zone where articles related solely to woodworking are allowed. Other types would be for arts and crafts, model car building, RC aircraft, etc…

Construction Type Directories:

There is one directory in particular that covers a wide range while still keeping a narrow scope on it's subject called Building Trades and Real Estate Articles. This directory covers most all the aspects of the building industry like new home construction, contractors, architects, engineers, building materials, surveying, etc…

Religious Theme Directories:

Of all the types of directories, this one is about the most exclusive. Seeing there are so many twists on what people believe the bible says or doesn't say, these types of article directories that accept articles from the public are rare indeed. One that is related to the old Baptist beliefs called PCIM Christian Articles does accept articles from Christian Authors. Then there are some that allow any type of belief to be posted as long as it sounds Christian.

There are many types of specialized directories but no matter what the theme, article directories are a wonderful tool for internet marketers who are wanting to draw visitors to their web sites. Because many of these allow you to place a link in the bio section of your article, it is a great opportunity for you, the author, to share your knowledge, create a reputation as a specialist in your particular area of expertise, and let people find you on a vast internet.

Tim Davis is an article author specializing in subjects related to Architecture and Construction. His website is at http://101info.org/articles/ where you can request articles related specifically to your interest.
