Selecting The Right Cover Poster Model
by Lynne Saarte
http://www.printplace.com
Choosing the right cover model for poster printing must always be your
first priority, especially if you are advertising something. You do not
just print posters
to give information. You invest in poster printing so that you can
attract people and excite them with your advertising message. This
means that your cover model, be it a person or a thing must be
attractive enough for people notice, but effective enough to deliver a
good coherent message. If you are in the dark on how to achieve such
things, then here are some of my tips on choosing the right cover
poster model for your own poster printing.
Best representation of your message.
The initial thing that you should consider when choosing a cover poster
model is the symbolism or the representation of your message. For
example, a delivery service might use a runner or a cheetah as cover
models to convey that they are a fast delivery service. A theater group
will of course probably show the iconic scene or character that there
play has. Of course for advertising products like food or gadgets,
there is nothing like the product itself to become the poster object.
Whatever your case though, you must be mindful that the choice of
object or even person should convey all the qualities that your message
should have.
Appealing to reader's interest.
The next thing to consider in choosing the poster model is the reader's
interest. You must appeal to what people generally are interested to
see. For instance, in our example above about the delivery service,
what will strike readers more? Will it be the runner or the cheetah? It
all depends on your market demographics but in most cases the runner or
the person will be more interesting to people since that is the one
they can easily relate to and understand as fast. Not everyone knows
about cheetahs. So always make sure to choose something that you think
your audience will like. Do not just choose a model that you alone will
appreciate, everyone else must understand it.
Attractiveness.
Another thing to take note of in your poster models is their
attractiveness. Your poster models must attract people to look at them.
Of course, that means looking for actual people who are models that are
attractive which people like looking at. This attractiveness can really
turn heads for a poster that is why celebrity endorsements and fashion
models work well with posters. This can also work for objects as well,
like attractive and mouth watering food or sleek and modern gadgets.
Mysteriousness.
An alternative though to attractiveness is mysteriousness. Other poster
designers have been successful with using mysterious looking models for
their posters. This can be something like a silhouette of a male or
female model, or even an actual product itself. Mystery can really
sometimes sell a poster leaving people wondering more of what it is all
about. Cover models for this kind of poster are usually hidden or
obscured to make it work.
Original and distinct.
Finally, choosing a cover model for color posters means being original
and distinct. You shouldn't use something similar that your rivals are
using. If they are using their products as the main model for their
posters, then why not use a sexy looking model with your product
instead? If they are using attractive models, why not distinguish
yourself and try out a nice symbolism with scenery or animals? If you
try to be different as well with your cover models you can achieve a
certain kind of distinction that can be memorable to your audiences.
Hopefully that helps you out in choosing your cover models for your
color poster printing. Be it an attractive person, or an attractive
product, you should be able now to choose the best one that can attract
and be memorable to people.
