In this article I am going to be writing about how to successfully promote a website, these free tips when adhered to will lead to an increase in traffic to your website, this will lead to increase in sales/revenue and this leads to a happy webmaster. This is not your usual dross, these tips work!
I am somebody who owns over fifty websites, I have been attempting to make money online since 1998 and now feel that I finally understand what is required to achieve this. Here are five commandments which you need to follow:
1. Unique content
The content of your website needs to be unique, well written and of use to people who are likely to read it. There are a great many websites which have content which is basically just a duplicate of information which is available elsewhere. Not only is this lazy it can easily lead to your site receiving a penalty from the major search engines and will make it extremely difficult for you to gain a high ranking.
2. Update your website
You should be regularly updating your website with additional unique and interesting content; otherwise your site will become stale.
3. Key phrases
Each website will have a certain number of phrases which they will hope to obtain a high search engine ranking for, these phrases or keywords should all appear somewhere on the websites homepage.
4. Obtain quality one-way backward links
It is essential that you obtain some high value one-way links pointing to your website. This is not easy to do and has recently become a whole lot harder after Google put an end to paid links.
5. Write articles
Article marketing is a powerful form of web promotion, I would advise people to write an average of article per day as this will help you to gain those all important backward links.
